UTM amends convo dates to avoid clash with GE15

The first session of the convocation was initially scheduled for Nov 19 which is polling day.

JOHOR BAHRU:
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has amended the dates of its convocation sessions, which coincide with polling day for the 15th general election (GE15).

It said in a statement today that session 1 on Nov 19, at 8am, has been postponed to Nov 24 at the same time, session 2 on Nov 20 (8am) is now moved to 2pm on Nov 24 while session 3 on Nov 20 (2pm) will now be held at 8am on Nov 25.

However, session 4 until session 9 (from Nov 21 to 23) remain as scheduled, it said.

“This amendment is to allow all UTM graduates and family members to fulfil their responsibilities as voters,” it added.

UTM’s 66th convocation was initially scheduled to be held from Nov 19 until 23.

“In line with this amendment, all those graduating are requested to refer to the official website at www.utm.my/convocation for any updated information.”
