
Bukit Jalil fire and rescue station operations commander Khairuddin Abdurrahman said the department was alerted at 6.14am following the accident and 17 firemen from the Bukit Jalil and Pudu stations were sent to the scene.
“Three passengers in the car driven by the woman escaped unhurt while another suffered head injuries.
“The driver of the other car was also unhurt,” he said in a statement.
Cheras police chief Zam Halim Jamaluddin said the victim’s car was hit by another car as she was re-entering the highway after a stop on the emergency lane.
“The collision caused the car to skid, crash into a road divider and burst into flames.
“The 28-year-old female driver was pinned to her seat and died on the spot,” he said
