Go solo in Sabah too, PBRS urges BN

Party chief Joseph Kurup says cooperation between BN and GRS will only give Perikatan Nasional an advantage.

Joseph Kurup said PBRS division leaders and grassroot members are not in favour of cooperation with GRS.
PETALING JAYA:
Barisan Nasional component party Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah has suggested that BN go it alone in Sabah for the general election.

PBRS president Joseph Kurup said any electoral cooperation between BN and the ruling state coalition GRS would only benefit Perikatan Nasional

He said his suggestion “also takes into account the feedback from PBRS division leaders and grassroot members who don’t agree with the cooperation”.

His statement came as BN and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah continue negotiations on the distribution of parliamentary seats for the general election.

GRS comprises PN and PBS, and it leads the state government with BN.

Kurup expressed full support for BN chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who said that the coalition will go solo in Peninsular Malaysia at the coming election.

PBRS only won one parliamentary seat in the 14th general election through Arthur Kurup in Pensiangan.
