PETALING JAYA:
Zuraida Kamaruddin is now officially the president of Parti Bangsa Malaysia after she received the unanimous support of delegates who attended the party’s inaugural general assembly.

PBM information chief Zakaria Abdul Hamid said Selangor representative Jaafar Wahyu had proposed Zuraida, the party’s president-designate, to take over the number one position as PBM president.

“We have been waiting for this moment for a long time and we hope the leadership can streamline the party’s work,” he told FMT.

He said PBM will hold a meeting to discuss the position of former president Larry Sng.

He said there was a proposal to suggest that PBM create three positions for deputy president.

Asked if Sng would fill the position, Zakaria said “yes, that is our proposal”.

“All the motions brought by the delegates in this convention were decided unanimously,” he said.

Last June, Sng announced Zuraida as PBM leader, which was unanimously adopted by members of the party’s political bureau and the supreme council.

Zuraida was given the mandate to lead the party’s delegation in meetings and negotiations with other party leaders, especially pertaining to discussions on forming political cooperation.
