PETALING JAYA:
Former Umno Sungai Rapat assemblyman Hamidah Osman has lodged a police report over a message circulating on social media alleging that former prime minister Najib Razak is receiving preferential medical treatment.

She filed the report at the Jalan Tun Razak police station yesterday.

“The message seemed to have downplayed Najib’s health issues and gave the impression that he was faking his ailment,” said Hamidah.

She also attached copies of reports from Prince Court Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur and Najib’s private doctor to verify Najib’s ailment, which she claimed was life-threatening.

“It is understood that Najib’s condition (has) worsened last week and this can be verified by (the) Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL),” she said in the report.

Hamidah claimed to have read the message on her phone when she was at Jalan Ampang on Sept 19.

She said the message was signed “From an undisclosed source on DS Najib” and included details of Najib’s movements.

She urged the police to investigate those responsible for spreading the “malicious” message.

Ampang police chief Farouk Eshak said they were unable to get in touch with Hamidah to record her statement.

Yesterday, the prisons department said Najib was transferred to the Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital (HRC) for treatment and observation on Monday after being referred by HKL.

It said the Kuala Lumpur High Court ordered Najib to be taken to the hospital for treatment on Sept 12.

Najib is serving his 12-year jail sentence after the Federal Court upheld his conviction and sentence in his SRC International case on Aug 23.
