Chin Aun, when contacted, said his father, whose health had deteriorated, was admitted to Hospital Alor Gajah three days ago. He passed away at 1am today.

Chin Aun added that his father left behind eight children – five boys and three girls.

The remains would be brought to his house in Jalan Kolam, Alor Gajah for relatives and friends to pay their last respects.

Melaka chief minister Sulaiman Md Ali, who visited Chin Aun and his father last January for Chinese New Year, was reported to have said that Tee Tong was the oldest living person in Alor Gajah at the time.
