
He said the first scenario would be a big win for Umno but this would be followed by an unprecedented tussle for the prime minister’s post.
“If this happens, is the 10th prime minister going to be Ismail Sabri Yaakob or Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi? Or is it going to be Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan?
“There are also two dark horses in the running, namely Khairy Jamaluddin and Hishammuddin Hussein. There are also questions asked if after a suitable period, will Najib Razak return as the 11th prime minister?” he said in a statement.
The Iskandar Puteri MP said if the GE15 resulted in a big Umno win, Najib might be freed from jail, and all the pending corruption cases against him and Umno leaders would likely be dropped.
The second scenario, he said, is a big win for Pakatan Harapan with Anwar Ibrahim as the next prime minister. He added this will see the coalition resuming work on the reform of institutions which was cut short when PH was toppled after 22 months by the Sheraton Move in 2020.
Lim said a third scenario would see no coalition having sufficient numbers of MPs to be able to form a government, let alone command two-thirds parliamentary majority. He added that it will see Malaysia embarking on an unprecedented political experience.
“In a very real sense, GE15 will be a life-and-death struggle for Umno, the rule of law and the very future of Malaysia,” he said.
