KUALA LUMPUR:
Pakatan Harapan has yet to discuss making Muda a component party of the coalition, says its chairman Anwar Ibrahim.

“The PH presidential council has not discussed (Muda) joining PH yet,” the PKR president and opposition leader told reporters briefly at the sidelines of an event here today.

He was asked if Muda will officially become a part of the coalition since the party, led by Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, has been taking part in various programmes organised by PH.

On Aug 13, PKR information chief Fahmi Fadzil said PH may be announcing new alliances soon, with seat negotiations for the next general election (GE15) getting more lively.

Fahmi, the Lembah Pantai MP, did not rule out the possibility of Muda joining PH, but said PKR had not held any discussions on the matter.

Anwar also said he was looking at several parliamentary seats he could potentially contest for in GE15.

He, however, said people in Port Dickson were asking him to defend the seat he won in a by-election in October 2018.

He said his current focus was to strengthen the coalition’s election machinery and wind up seat negotiations.

He said he will announce his decision on where to stand after GE15 has been called.
