He said of the 85 statutory bodies and GLCs in the state, only nine have set up IGUs.
Hajiji said IGUs were important to ensure transparency, compliance with laws and prevent abuse of power.
“As such, I am instructing the 76 statutory bodies and GLCs that have yet to establish an IGU to pay serious attention to this.
“I am only giving them until the end of the year to establish an IGU in their respective agencies,” he said at the launch of Hari Integriti Sabah 2022 here today.
He said on Nov 12, 2019, the state government had instructed all GLCs to set up an IGU in their respective organisations within two years.
Meanwhile, Hajiji also instructed all 17 departments under the chief minister’s department to establish their own anti-corruption plan by the end of the year. So far only 11 have done so.
“The anti-corruption plans for the chief minister’s department, ministries, departments and agencies are part of our anti-corruption policy that reflects our commitment to curbing corruption in the public service.”
He also encouraged GLCs to develop their own anti-corruption plans and obtain their anti-bribery management system certification.
