The decision was made at the PH presidential council meeting that took place earlier today to discuss preparations for the general election.
“We have agreed in principle that PH will be using one logo for GE15,” said Loke in his weekly online programme.
“It is just that PKR has suggested that minor changes be done on the logo to rebrand PH’s image.”
The opposition coalition, he added, will discuss whether minor changes can be made to the logo.
“But whatever it is, I am pleased that we have decided (in) principle to use one logo for GE15,” added Loke.
In the last general election, PH was forced to contest under the PKR logo after the Registrar of Societies refused to approve the coalition’s registration as a body and its logo, citing problems with the documentation provided by Bersatu, which was then one of its component parties.
The issue of the logo cropped up again at the Johor state elections when PKR decided to use its own logo while DAP and Amanah decided to use the coalition’s logo.
Loke also said that the seat distribution matter among the coalition members would be resolved by September.
On the coalition’s manifesto, he said that the manifesto committee has a few more weeks to work on it before it is sent to the presidential council at the end of September.
Chaotic development in Umno expected
On a separate matter, Loke said the chaos in Umno following the imprisonment of former prime minister Najib Razak was expected.
He pointed out that there were already critical comments against Umno vice-president Ismail Sabri Yaakob on social media for not helping Najib despite being a prime minister from the same party.
Loke cited Umno Supreme Council member Puad Zarkashi who made a Facebook post earlier today stating the party no longer needed a “poster boy” in GE15 if the poster boy was “vain and weak”.
The DAP leader said that Puad’s criticism was clearly aimed at Ismail although he did not name the latter.
“These are all ‘signs’ that indicate that they (pro-Najib Umno leaders) reject Ismail.”
