Cops confirm receiving report on leaked draft judgment in Najib’s case

Police are conducting investigations after getting the reports yesterday.

The chief registrar’s office of the Federal Court said amendments had been made to the draft judgment that was leaked.
PUTRAJAYA:
Putrajaya police have received two reports on the leaked draft judgment in relation to former prime minister Najib Razak’s final appeal.

District police chief A Asmadi Abdul Aziz said police received the reports yesterday and were conducting further investigations.

“The case is being investigated under Section 203A of the Penal Code, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act and Section 8 of the Official Secrets Act,” he said in a statement sent through WhatsApp today.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Azmi Abu Kassim reportedly said court officials made the report at the Putrajaya district police headquarters.

The chief registrar’s office of the Federal Court in a statement yesterday confirmed that the written draft of the judgment titled “Najib Razak’s SRC Appeal: The Judgment” was found to have been leaked.

However, it said that it was a draft judgment that had not yet been finalised and amendments had been made.
