PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob joined nearly 10,000 congregants at the Putra Mosque here tonight at a prayer event to mark his first year in office.
He was accompanied by religious affairs minister Idris Ahmad to a meal before joining the congregational Isyak prayer led by the grand imam, Salahuddin Ghozali, while the “solat hajat” was led by Federal Territories mufti Luqman Abdullah.
Ismail also distributed aid to several tahfiz centres, welfare institutions and orphanages.
The prayer event, organised by the Islamic Dakwah Foundation Malaysia was conducted simultaneously in Putrajaya, Kedah, Pahang, Sabah, Sarawak and Johor.
