Malaysian singer Eison Chai found dead in Taipei

Police say the 40-year-old fell from a building at an MRT station.

PETALING JAYA:
Malaysian pop singer Eison Chai was found dead today at an MRT station building in the Luzhou district in New Taipei, Taiwan.

New Taipei Luzhou police precinct said Chai, 40, died after falling from the station building at about 10am.

A report in Focus Taiwan said no other details were immediately available and the police said they have launched an investigation.

Chai rose to fame after winning season two of the Taiwanese singing competition “Super Idol”, which ran from 2008 to 2009.

He was married to Taiwanese actress Hitomi Wu.
