The PMC, a joint venture of HSS Integrated Sdn Bhd and HSS Engineering Sdn Bhd, will assist MRT Corp in managing and delivering the project at a cost of RM997.9 million.
The appointment of the PMC is part of the five main packages which also includes three civil main contractor (CMC) packages, and one systems turnkey contractor (STC) package.
MRT Corp CEO Zarif Hashim said that the HSS Integrated Sdn Bhd and HSS Engineering Sdn Bhd joint venture was among the 13 companies that tendered for the PMC job.
“Besides assisting MRT Corp, we also expect the PMC to serve the needs of the civil and system work package contractors so that we can work together effectively to deliver the project.”
He said the PMC would be responsible for synchronising construction work.
“They will also be given targets and KPIs, with a penalty for not meeting them.”
Separately, Zarif said MRT Corp has extended the deadline for technical submission for two CMC packages, due to the “overwhelming response”, to Sept 30.
The initial deadline was Aug 2.
The deadline for the remaining package, dubbed MC301, remains on Aug 30.
MRT Corp has described the circle line project as the “critical final piece” to complete Kuala Lumpur’s urban rail network.
Its proposed 51km alignment will run along the perimeter of Kuala Lumpur and be connected to MRT, LRT, KTM, and Monorail lines through 10 interchange stations.
