PETALING JAYA:
Former Johor assemblyman Chong Fat Full has taken over as the head of Bersatu’s associate wing following Segamat MP Edmund Santhara Kumar’s resignation from the post last month.

On July 25, Chong said Santhara was stepping down from the post to focus on his constituency ahead of the general election. He was Santhara’s deputy in the associate wing previously.

Chong’s appointment was announced by Bersatu secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin in a statement today.

The former Pemanis assemblyman and Santhara were both formerly with PKR before the change of government in 2020.

Hamzah also announced the appointment of Nur Fadzilah Kamaluddin as the pro tem head of Bersatu’s young women’s wing, with Suhainna Jamri as her deputy.

“These appointments are part of completing the party’s election organisational structure at the federal level and reflects Bersatu’s readiness in facing the 15th general election at any time,” he said.
