PETALING JAYA:
Former Selangor menteri besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim is unwell and receiving treatment at a local hospital.

His former political secretary, Faekah Husin, wrote about his condition in a Facebook post after she had visited him on Wednesday.

“Yesterday, I had the opportunity to visit Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim. Upon entering the room, I saw Puan Sri Salbiah (Khalid’s wife) sitting faithfully by his side while several nurses were preparing to treat Tan Sri,” Berita Harian quoted her as saying yesterday.

“My chest felt heavy. I felt so sad to see him that way.

“What was even more depressing was the fact that I didn’t have the chance to talk to him because the nurses had already begun treating him.”

In May, Khalid was reported to have been hospitalised for lung infection but his condition was stabilised.

Last December, reports had surfaced on social media about his health after pictures of him looking thin and frail went viral.

However, Khalid was reported as saying he had lost weight as he was diabetic and suffered from kidney disease.

He also said he had been undergoing dialysis for the past two years.
