PETALING JAYA:
Business premises, from supermarkets to convenience stores in Kelantan, including those operated by non-Muslims have been directed to close tomorrow for Hari Raya Aidiladha.

The directive from the PAS-led state government also applies to shopping complexes and fast-food joints, the New Straits Times reported.

Operations are to shut down for one day only. The Aidiladha festival is marked by a two-day public holiday in Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah, and Perlis.

Kota Bharu Municipal Council Islamic City secretary Shaifudeen Md Salleh said a notice dated July 6 was sent to business operators. He confirmed that the notice was issued by the state government and applies to all, including non-Muslim operators in Kelantan, the report said.

Those who do not comply could have their licences revoked. Some 300 business operators will be affected by the directive.
