
He said even if the party does decide to work with PH, this would only be after the polls.
“If there is cooperation, it will be after the election. There will be no cooperation with Sabah PH (in GE15),” he told FMT.
The Petagas assemblyman added that the party has only offered to cooperate with Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) ahead of the polls.
Prior to Awang’s announcement, PH and Warisan were engaged in a spat over the possibility of joining forces for GE15, with a Sabah DAP leader labelling the Warisan president as being hypocritical.
This after Shafie Apdal had accused DAP of being arrogant for setting conditions when seeking talks with Warisan over possible cooperation for GE15.
On June 3, Sabah DAP secretary Phoong Jin Zhe said any cooperation between Sabah Pakatan Harapan and Warisan was looking more unlikely with the latter seemingly distancing itself from the opposition coalition.
In late June, Shafie said Warisan was prepared to work with any political coalition that wins GE15 to ensure political stability.
He said this when asked if the party would work with Barisan Nasional to form a government if the coalition wins the nationwide polls.
