Hans Isaac didn’t use money to win Ampang PKR chief’s post, says aide

An aide from his office says such a complaint against the former Finas chairman was an attempt to ‘ruin his good name and reputation’.

Hans Isaac will be issuing a statement to PKR’s election committee to clear his name.
PETALING JAYA:
Actor-producer Hans Isaac has denied using money politics to win votes in the race for the Ampang PKR division chief’s post.

An aide from his office, Nadhirah Farhanah, said a claim against the former Finas chairman alleging that he had resorted to such tactics was an attempt to “ruin his good name and reputation in his political career”.

“Hans Isaac has never practised money politics to win over voters. He and his team have always acted professionally and with integrity,” she said in a statement.

She added that Isaac would be issuing a statement to PKR’s election committee on the “baseless” accusation to clear his name.

This came after a PKR member, Syafiq Zulkifli, lodged an official complaint to the committee on alleged ethical misconduct by Isaac.

Yesterday, Isaac claimed victory in the race for the Ampang PKR division chief’s post.

The former Finas chairman took to Instagram to post a picture of himself signing a document with the caption “Happy to announce officially that it’s official”, followed by the hashtag “Ketua Cabang Ampang” (Ampang division chief).

Fresh elections for the post were held after the initial result was nullified following allegations of vote-buying.

It was previously reported that Daing Muhammad Reduan Bachok had won the six-way contest for the post. Daing was disqualified from the fresh election.
