KOTA KINABALU: Former Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) vice-president Kadoh Agundong, who was once dubbed a “giant killer” for defeating then Sabah chief minister Harris Salleh in the 1985 state election, died today.
The veteran Sabah politician was 74.
Kadoh died while receiving treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital II, with news of the former PBS leader’s passing going viral on social media since early this morning.
PBS Supreme Council member Stanis Buandi said Kadoh was the first Sabah Cabinet minister from the Murut Timugon tribe.
“Indeed, our large family has lost a credible leader,” he said on Facebook.
“Goodbye ‘The giant killer’ Datuk Kadoh Agundong.”
Kadoh served as youth and sports minister in the PBS administration before being appointed local government and housing minister in the mid-1980s.
He was the former Melalap assemblyman under PBS and was also with Warisan.
