“The matter is still being discussed at the highest level … the results of the discussion will be announced later,” he told reporters.
Hamzah said the use of a common symbol was among the coalition’s strategies to face the elections.
Yesterday, PAS spiritual leader Hashim Jasin hinted that the party would use its own logo at the general election as the party’s logo had been known to be “clean”.
He said PAS leaders were confident that use of their own logo would give an advantage to the candidates since the emblem had been in use for the past 70 years.
Hamzah declined to comment when asked about Perak PAS’ offer to an Umno leader, Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, the chance to defend his Pasir Salak parliamentary seat under the PAS symbol.
The offer came following Tajuddin’s removal from the Umno Supreme Council.
Hamzah said: “Anyone can give an opinion or make such offers and to me, it was just a suggestion. The final decision will be up to the leadership so I do not need to comment on the matter,” he said.
On reports that PAS wanted the general election to be held early, Hamzah said it could be speeded up if all parties were ready, including the people.
