
He said the priority now was building up the party in various states and identifying seats that it can win at the next general election.
“What’s important is that we strengthen our house first. Once we have achieved that, only then can we talk about collaboration and coalition partners,” he told reporters after opening Warisan’s Negeri Sembilan office today.
“We realise that it is not easy to contest alone (in the Peninsula), but we are already used to contesting alone in Sabah.
“In Sabah, we succeeded as a single party, with no coalition. But I believe, in the peninsula, this formula will not work because here cooperation with other parties is needed.”
Shafie added that the party had not decided on the number of seats it will contest.
