KLANG: Veteran comedian Abdul Hamid Ab Rahman, popularly known as Hamid Gurkha, died today of old age.
He was 89.
His daughter, Norazian, 53, said her father breathed his last at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) at 2.19pm.
“My father’s health had been deteriorating since Aidilfitri and worsened last Thursday when he was admitted to HTAR.
“The doctor said there was a lung infection,” she said when met at her house in Taman Sri Andalas here.
Hamid is survived by wife Timah Hamid, 80, six children, 32 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He will be laid to rest at the Kota Raja Mosque cemetery after Isyak prayers.
