Big names among 70 vying for PKR’s central leadership council positions

There are 20 seats up for grabs with results set to be released on June 25 at the PKR national congress.

PETALING JAYA:
Seventy PKR members are contesting for the 20 seats in the party’s central leadership council for the 2022-2024 term, according to a list of candidates posted on the PKR election website.

Petaling Jaya MP Maria Chin Abdullah, Subang MP Wong Chen, Ledang MP Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh, Sungai Buloh MP R Sivarasa and party newcomer Maszlee Malik, who joined last November, are among the prominent names contesting.

Among the other candidates are former student activist Fahmi Zainol, actor and producer Hans Isaac and actor-comedian Afdlin Shauki.

The results of the vote will be announced at the PKR national congress on June 25.
