PETALING JAYA: Bersatu deputy president Ahmad Faizal Azumu has started a “psychological warfare” against Perak opposition leader Abdul Aziz Bari, who intends to contest the Tambun parliamentary seat in the upcoming general election (GE15).
Faizal, the incumbent Tambun MP who is often referred to as Peja, joked that even Aziz’s wife could contest in GE15.
“We live in a democratic nation. Not only can Aziz contest (for the Tambun seat), his wife is welcome, too,” he said.
Aziz is currently the assemblyman for Tebing Tinggi.
“We encourage such contests. If anybody wants to contest, please do. There’s no problem.
“But, most importantly, don’t slander others,” he said, according to Awani.
Aziz, who is with DAP, had previously declared his intentions to face off against Faizal for the Tambun parliamentary seat in GE15.
In response, state Amanah chief Asmuni Awi said Perak Pakatan Harapan had not decided which party would be contesting the Tambun seat.
