KUALA LUMPUR:
The Form Three Assessment (PT3) exam will be abolished effective this year, education minister Radzi Jidin was quoted as saying by Bernama today.

This comes after the Primary School Achievement Test (Ujian Peperiksaan Sekolah Rendah-UPSR) was abolished last year.

The PT3 exam was not held for the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a press conference, Radzi said the ministry would implement summative assessments and work on improving school-based and classroom-based assessments instead.

He said teachers would regularly conduct assessments to evaluate students’ mastery and understanding of the respective subjects.

Earlier this year, Radzi said no decision had been made on the PT3 as the ministry was still determining the best approach to assess students.
