PETALING JAYA:
Another “failed train” at the KL Sentral station has left commuters on the Kelana Jaya LRT line fuming over their delayed journey home.

This is believed to be the third such incident over the past two weeks.

A shuttle service has been activated between the Bangsar and Pasar Seni stations, said RapidKL in a tweet at 5.15pm. “Trains from Putra Heights will turn back at Bangsar and trains from Gombak will turn back at Pasar Seni.”

Stating that its technical team is at the site for “rectification works”, RapidKL advised customers to seek alternative transport to reach their destinations.

It said shuttle buses will ferry commuters for free from the Bangsar station to the Pasar Seni station, bypassing the KL Sentral station.

On May 10, a “failed train” disrupted services on the Kelana Jaya line. Another such incident was reported earlier the previous day on the Ampang/Sri Petaling line.

Netizens took to social media to express their frustrations over today’s delay, with Twitter user @syoojjang stating it was “crazy” that a train had broken down at KL Sentral.

Another user, @ShukClimbWalls, said RapidKL should resolve whatever was plaguing the LRT service as quickly as possible.

“It’s Friday, people just want to go home. The situation at KL Sentral, Bangsar and Pasar Seni is madness,” he said.

When asked for comment, a spokesman from rail operator Prasarana confirmed the incident and said it would be releasing a statement shortly.
