PETALING JAYA:
Two Sabahans won nearly RM22 million playing the numbers lottery last month.

A 61-year-old forest reserve manager, took home nearly RM13.8 million after winning the Sports Toto Supreme 6/58 jackpot on April 24, The Borneo Post reported.

Prior to that, on April 20, a 54-year-old administrative officer won the RM8 million Sports Toto 4D Jackpot 1.

The forest reserve manager, who collected RM13,779,096.95, said his friends made fun of him after he insisted on playing the Supreme 6/58 game even after the record-breaking RM97.75 million jackpot was won in March.

“They told me not to waste my time as the largest jackpot in Malaysian history was already won. Luckily, I ignored them and now, I am a multi-millionaire,” he was quoted as saying.

“I only found out a week later that my Lucky Pick ticket with the set of winning numbers – 9, 13, 26, 34, 35 and 46 – had won me a whopping RM13.78 million as I only checked the draw result when I visited the Toto outlet,” he said.

While he has yet to decide on how to use his winnings, he said he has no plans to retire because he enjoys working in the jungle.

Meanwhile, the 54-year-old administrative officer took home RM8,065,964.80 and an additional RM1,008 as a bonus after betting on his favourite 4D numbers, 2425 and 3512.

He said he would use his winnings to pay off his debts and keep some for his childrens’ educational expenses.
