Indonesia and Brunei have also announced May 2 as Hari Raya Aidilfitri, while Singapore will celebrate it on May 3.
As Monday is a replacement public holiday for Labour Day today, the public holidays for Hari Raya will be Tuesday and Wednesday.
Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and his Cabinet members will host an open house at Laman Sari, Seri Perdana Complex in Putrajaya from 10am to 4pm on May 8.
Visitors are encouraged to wear face masks and keep a physical distance from each other, the prime minister’s office said last week.
