PETALING JAYA: Hari Raya Aidilfitri will be celebrated tomorrow, the Keeper of the Ruler’s Seal, Syed Danial Syed Ahmad, announced this evening on behalf of the Rulers’ Conference.
The announcement follows the sighting of the new moon of Syawal, which is carried out at locations throughout the country.
Indonesia and Brunei have also announced May 2 as Hari Raya Aidilfitri, while Singapore will celebrate it on May 3.
As Monday is a replacement public holiday for Labour Day today, the public holidays for Hari Raya will be Tuesday and Wednesday.
Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and his Cabinet members will host an open house at Laman Sari, Seri Perdana Complex in Putrajaya from 10am to 4pm on May 8.
Visitors are encouraged to wear face masks and keep a physical distance from each other, the prime minister’s office said last week.
