BN man to lodge police report against Sanusi over ‘PASLeak’ claim

PETALING JAYA:
A Barisan Nasional (BN) leader says he will lodge a police report against Kedah menteri besar Sanusi Md Nor tomorrow after the latter refused to apologise over an allegation he made yesterday.

Selangor BN information chief Isham Jalil said this will allow police to probe the PAS leader for criminal defamation.

Isham added that if Sanusi manages to dodge a criminal charge he would then initiate a civil suit.

“I gave you the opportunity to apologise, but you are egotistical.

“Hence, I would need to make you an example so that others will refrain from making defamatory remarks,” he said in a Facebook post tonight.

Earlier today, Isham threatened to sue Sanusi for defamation if he did not apologise within 48 hours for implying he could be behind the “PASLeak” scandal.

He was responding to Sanusi, who was reported to have said yesterday that it was possible that BN’s cybertroopers might be behind the “PASLeak” papers, and that Isham “may be” behind the leak.

The papers are said to be minutes of a PAS meeting that allegedly mentioned a plot to topple Umno and its leaders, and has linked several prominent figures to the alleged conspiracy.

When asked about the threat of a lawsuit today, Sanusi just brushed it off, calling Isham “anak seluang”, a type of small fish that is popularly used as bait, suggesting that the Umno man was not worthy of his time.

He added that he did not even bother to talk to a lawyer about the threat of a lawsuit from Isham.

“There is no need for me to talk to a lawyer. It has nothing to do with me,” Sanusi said.
