PETALING JAYA:
Police will summon politicians named in the purported leaked minutes of a PAS meeting known as “PASLeak”.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Azmi Abu Kassim said police had already begun their investigation following a police report that was lodged by Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi last week.

The “PASLeak” papers detailed a plot to topple Umno leaders and the need for “interference” in certain Umno leaders’ court cases to expedite sentencing.

“The KL contingent police’s criminal investigation department (CID) is handling the investigation. We will call the relevant individuals to have their statements recorded,” he told the media at an event at Menara TM in Kuala Lumpur today.

The papers include a plan to expedite the sentences of Umno’s “court cluster”, namely Zahid and former prime minister Najib Razak, who are either on trial or have been convicted on charges such as criminal breach of trust, abuse of power and money laundering.

Several prominent figures have been linked to the alleged plot, including Terengganu menteri besar and PAS vice-president Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan and Bersatu ministers Azmin Ali and Hamzah Zainudin.

PAS leaders have so far denied the authenticity of the documents.
