30 Covid-19 deaths, 9,002 new cases

The death toll stands at 35,341.

Six of the deaths were classified as brought-in-dead cases.
PETALING JAYA:
The health ministry reported 30 Covid-19 deaths yesterday, up from 19 previously.

The death toll stands at 35,341.

According to the ministry’s GitHub database, there were 9,002 new cases, compared with 7,739 a day before. They comprised 8,950 local cases and 52 imported cases.

There were six brought-in-dead (BID) cases.

Johor recorded five deaths, followed by Penang and Sarawak (4 each), Perak and Selangor (3 each), Kedah, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and Pahang (2 each) and Perlis, Sabah and Terengganu (1 each).

There were no deaths in Kelantan, Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya.

As of midnight, there were 126,455 active cases, with 2,675 people hospitalised. Of this, 153 were in intensive care units (ICU), with 97 requiring respiratory assistance.

There were also 16,986 recoveries recorded.

The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia stands at 4,342,559.
