21 Covid-19 deaths, new cases drop to 10,177

The death toll now stands at 35,280

PETALING JAYA:
The health ministry reported 21 Covid-19 deaths yesterday.

According to the ministry’s GitHub database, there were 10,177 new cases, comprising 10,124 local cases and 53 imported cases.

There were no brought-in-dead (BID) cases yesterday. The death toll now stands at 35,280.

Johor recorded the most number of deaths with four. This was followed by Kedah, Pahang and Selangor with three each, Perak (2), Sarawak (2), Melaka (1), Perlis (1), Kuala Lumpur (1) and Negeri Sembilan (1).

There were no deaths reported in Sabah, Penang, Kelantan, Putrajaya and Labuan.

As of midnight, there were 153,463 active cases, with 2,964 people hospitalised. Of this, 195 were in intensive care units (ICU), 108 of whom required respiratory assistance.

There were also 15,132 recoveries recorded.

The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia stands at 4,317,706
