32 Covid-19 deaths, 12,105 new cases

PETALING JAYA:
The health ministry reported 32 Covid-19 deaths yesterday, down from 33 previously.

The death toll now stands at 35,192.

According to the ministry’s GitHub database, there were 12,105 new cases, compared with 12,017 a day before. They comprised 12,062 local cases and 43 imported cases.

Of the 32 deaths, nine were classified as brought-in-dead (BID) cases.

Johor and Selangor recorded seven deaths each, followed by Perak (5), Terengganu (4), Kedah and Melaka (3 each) and Negeri Sembilan, Perlis and Kuala Lumpur (1 each).

There were no deaths in Kelantan, Pahang, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Labuan and Putrajaya.

As of midnight, there were 162,216 active cases, with 3,279 people hospitalised. Of this, 221 were in intensive care units (ICU), with 122 requiring respiratory assistance.

There were also 21,029 recoveries recorded.

The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia stands at 4,280,591.
