
The death toll now stands at 35,127.
According to the ministry’s GitHub database, there were 10,002 new cases, compared with 12,390 a day before. They comprised 9,904 local cases and 98 imported cases.
Of the 28 deaths, seven were classified as brought-in-dead (BID) cases.
Perak and Selangor recorded six deaths each, followed by Johor (5), Penang (4), Negeri Sembilan (3), Pahang (2) and Kedah and Sarawak (1 each).
There were no deaths reported in Kelantan, Melaka, Perlis, Sabah, Kelantan, Terengganu and the federal territories.
As of midnight, there were 179,619 active cases, with 3,622 people hospitalised. Of this, 236 were in intensive care units (ICU), with 140 requiring respiratory assistance.
There were also 23,302 recoveries recorded.
The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia stands at 4,256,469.
