
The new exco members included Johor Umno Youth chief and Larkin state assemblyman Hairi Mad Shah, Ledang Wanita Umno chief Khairin Nisa Ismail (Serom), national MIC Youth chief K Raven Kumar (Tenggaroh), Jafni Md Shukor (Bukit Permai), Zahari Sarip (Buloh Kasap) and Fared Mohd Khalid (Semerah).
The others were Kota Tinggi Puteri Umno chief and Johor Lama state assemblyman Norliza Noh, Johor MCA Youth head Ling Tian Soon (Yong Peng), Lee Ting Han (Paloh) and Fazli Mohamad Salleh (Bukit Pasir).
Also present at the swearing-in ceremony were Johor crown prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim and the Tunku Temenggong of Johor, Tunku Idris Iskandar Sultan Ibrahim.
On March 15, Machap state assemblyman Onn Hafiz Ghazi was sworn in as the 19th Johor menteri besar.
Onn Hafiz, the Simpang Renggam Umno division vice-chief, succeeded Hasni Mohammad as the menteri besar following Barisan Nasional’s landslide win in the recent Johor state elections.
Onn Hafiz said 70% of the exco members announced today were young and new faces.
“The line-up also consists of leaders from various races, apart from taking into account the gender balance. It is a combination of leaders who are loaded with experience and knowledgeable young leaders.”
