35% of kids aged 5-11 given Covid-19 vaccine

National immunisation programme also sees 91% of teens fully vaccinated.

KUALA LUMPUR:
A total of 1,239,194 children aged five to 11, or 34.9% in the age group, have received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccine under the national immunisation programme for children as of yesterday.

As for adolescents aged 12-17, according to the CovidNow website, a total of 2,842,480 individuals (91.4%) have been fully vaccinated while 2,941,159 (or 94.6%) have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

Among the adult population, a total of 15,446,895 people (65.7%) have received the booster dose and a total of 22,941,756 people (97.5%) have been fully vaccinated, while 23,217,449 (98.7%) have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

Yesterday, a total of 40,418 doses were administered — 18,273 first doses, 1,709 second doses and 20,436 booster doses.

This brings the cumulative total vaccine doses dispensed under the national immunisation programme to 68,418,688.
