
Of this, 1,276 cases were in Category 1 and 2, and 691 in Category 3, 4 and 5.
Selangor had the highest number of new admissions with 262, followed by Perak (249) and Johor (223).
A total of 1,686 patients were discharged yesterday.
In a statement, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Covid-19 intensive care units (ICUs) were at 42% of their total capacity of 881 beds.
ICU beds in six regions have exceeded 50% capacity, namely Kelantan (73%), Kuala Lumpur (65%), Johor (63%), Selangor (61%), Perak (55%) and Putrajaya (50%).
A total of 223 patients required respiratory assistance, with ventilators being used at 25% of their maximum capacity.
The use of normal Covid-19 beds has exceeded 50% capacity in Putrajaya (114%), Selangor (101%), Perlis (93%), Perak (93%), Kuala Lumpur (93%), Terengganu (83%), Kelantan (79%), Sarawak (74%), Melaka (73%) and Pahang (70%).
In terms of the total capacity of public hospitals for both Covid-19 and non-Covid-19 patients, non-critical beds were at 70% while 59% of ICUs were in use.
Eleven clusters were also reported yesterday.
