
Amirudin made the announcement today in a post on his Twitter account, and apologised for the inconvenience caused.
“I have tested positive for Covid-19 based on a screening earlier this afternoon.
“I apologise for any inconvenience caused. Anyone who has had any interaction with me should follow the proper health SOPs and get tested as well. Please pray for me and my family. Thank you,” he said.
Meanwhile, Amirudin’s press secretary also issued a statement, saying that he would be quarantined for seven days, following the health ministry’s Covid-19 SOP.
Amirudin is expected to report back to his office on March 8.
On Dec 14 last year, his wife Masdiana Muhamad and their two children tested positive for the virus.
