Health officers said the three compounds totalling RM3,000 were for speakers failing to wear a mask during their speech, failure to provide a place for people to check-in via MySejahtera, and the lack of physical distancing.
“Each compound costs RM1,000 and an appeal can be made,” a representative of the organisers told reporters when met here tonight.
The ceramah was held at PH’s main operations room for the Kota Iskandar seat in Taman Mutiara Rini, Skudai. Others who spoke at the ceramah were Johor DAP chief Liew Chin Tong, Muda secretary-general Amira Aisya Abd Aziz and PH’s candidate for Kota Iskandar, Dzulkefly Ahmad.
Dzulkefly had tried to ask the health authorities to only issue a warning but failed. Meanwhile, one health officer said they had specifically told the organisers to comply with the set SOPs.
Previously, several political leaders from Barisan Nasional and Muda had also been fined by the health authorities for failing to comply with SOPs.
