PETALING JAYA:
A PKR candidate for the coming Johor polls has tested positive for Covid-19, the second candidate from the party to do so.

Arthur Chiong, who is contesting the Bukit Batu seat, has urged those who he met over the past few days to undergo a test.

Chiong said he was found positive for the virus after a self-test with a rapid antigen kit (RTK) which he does every day before attending any events on his programme.

“I am sorry as I am forced to cancel all my scheduled events. My team however will carry on. I will continue campaigning online, including (through) WhatsApp and Facebook,” he said in a statement tonight.

He said he was undergoing quarantine.

Two days ago, Pejuang was forced to change its candidate for the Endau seat after its initial pick, Zaini Tahar, tested positive for Covid-19. Noorhisyam Ibrahim is the replacement candidate.

On Feb 17, Dr Zamil Najwah Arbain, PKR’s candidate for Larkin tested positive for Covid-19 after a routine RTK test.
