PETALING JAYA:
Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) will field four candidates in the coming Johor elections, including Tebrau MP Steven Choong.

Choong, who is a PBM senior vice-president, will contest the Puteri Wangsa seat. This sets up a four-cornered clash with Muda’s Amira Aisya Abd Aziz as well as candidates from Bersatu and MCA.

In the 14th general election, Bersatu’s Mazlan Bujang, who contested under the Pakatan Harapan banner, won the seat in a five-cornered contest with a majority of 24,959 votes.

In a statement, PBM said its three other candidates for the Johor polls are Hanis Asmui Md Salleh (Maharani), Azmi Ali (Tiram) and Saiful Bahari Sahari (Stulang).

The party, led largely by former PKR leaders, had initially planned to contest in two seats.
