PETALING JAYA:
A man in Skudai, Johor, has been arrested by police for performing wheelie stunts with a child in tow, before posting it on social media.

Johor Bahru Utara district police chief Rupiah Abd Wahid said they were informed of the viral 36-second video yesterday, though it had been posted on Facebook on Feb 15.

In the video, the man can be seen riding a Honda EX5 motorcycle dangerously with the girl seated at the front of the vehicle. Both were not wearing helmets.

It is believed that the man had performed the stunt and posted it on social media to gain the attention of netizens, Rupiah said.

The case is being investigated under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for riding recklessly and dangerously. If convicted, he faces a maximum jail sentence of five years and a fine of up to RM15,000.

“In this case, three fines have been issued for a vehicle registration number that did not comply with specifications, expired road tax, and not wearing helmets,” she said.
