Northeast district acting police chief Saravanan Velu said residents found the man’s body on the ground floor of the GL Garden condominium, Paya Terubong, at 7.40am.
Then, at about 12.30pm, a woman sought the help of the Air Itam police after finding her daughter’s home locked.
Saravanan said police accompanied her and opened the door to the home with a spare key.

He said the victim, 46, was found lying on a bed with stab wounds on her neck and thigh. Investigators also found a knife believed to have been used in the attack.
“We believe she was involved in an argument with her husband and this was the outcome,” Saravanan said, adding that there were no signs of forced entry.
The couple’s son, aged 18, was at his grandmother’s home at the time of the incident.
Saravanan said a post-mortem would be conducted on both the bodies at the Penang Hospital.
He added that the couple worked at a factory.
