KUALA LUMPUR:
Bukit Aman’s integrity and standards compliance department will investigate the case of a man who died in police custody in Kuala Kangsar, Perak.

Department director Azri Ahmad said the 38-year-old was believed to have attacked his father at a house in Kampung Temong Hilir at 7pm yesterday.

“Police found the suspect at the scene acting aggressively. He put up a struggle against three officers and his father before we were able to subdue him.

“After being apprehended, the suspect was brought to the Kuala Kangsar Hospital for treatment. However, he became unconscious and was later pronounced dead,” he said in a statement today.

Azri said the case had been classified as sudden death pending the post-mortem report.
