Earlier this week, the health ministry said the four main PPVs in the Klang Valley – World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL), Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil, Ideal Convention Centre in Shah Alam, and Dewan Soka Gakkai in Klang – would allow walk-ins for anyone aged 18 and above.
Previously, only those aged 60 and above were allowed to walk-in for their booster shots.
Khairy said that those looking to get their boosters with private medical practitioners should contact the clinics involved first to set up an appointment.
“This is to avoid congestion and ensure that SOPs will be complied with at all times, taking into account the limited space in private clinics,” he said.
The list of private and offsite PPVs can be obtained on the website of ProtectHealth, the non-profit company appointed by the government to manage the participation of general practitioners under the national immunisation programme (PICK).
Noting that the health ministry expects a surge in social activities and family gatherings in light of the upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations, Khairy said the ministry strongly encourages all residents in Malaysia who are qualified to get a booster dose.
A total of 11,531,403 people, or 49.3% of the Malaysian population aged 18 and above, have received a booster dose as of yesterday.
