Bird’s nest agent charged with murder in Sabah

It was reported that a suspect had been arrested in Limbang, Sarawak, following the stabbing incident in Penampang, Kota Kinabalu.

KOTA KINABALU:
A bird’s nest agent was charged today with murdering a 30-year-old man outside a nightspot in Penampang, near here, three weeks ago.

Kaw Yung Chee, 35, was accused of stabbing and killing Jusmani Duragan outside the Maple Karaoke Lounge at 3.26am on Jan 4.

No plea was recorded after the charge was read out to him at the magistrates’ court here.

Magistrate Lovely Natasha Charles fixed Feb 28 for mention of the case.

She also ordered Kaw to be remanded as there is no provision for bail for murder cases.

Kelvan Elson Maik appeared for the prosecution while Amli Nohin represented the accused.

It was reported that Penampang police had arrested a suspect at a hotel in Limbang, Sarawak, on Jan 13 in connection with the stabbing.
