KUALA LUMPUR:
Police will investigate the involvement of several MPs, state assemblymen and NGOs in the #TangkapAzamBaki rally organised by the People’s Solidarity Secretariat (SSR) in Bangsar yesterday.

Brickfields district police chief Amihizam Abdul Shukor said the investigations would be conducted under the Public Assembly Act 2012 and the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342).

Amihizam, in a statement last night, said about 50 people wearing black shirts started gathering at the Bangsar LRT station from 10.45am.

“At about 11.45am, the estimated 400 participants carrying banners printed with ‘Tangkap’ started moving to Jalan Travers until the traffic light junction to Brickfields,” he said.

He said the participants of the rally then moved back to the Bangsar LRT station and dispersed in stages 30 minutes later after the leader of the assembly had given a speech.

Amihizam said 21 police officers and 205 men from various units including the Federal Reserve Unit, Kuala Lumpur police, traffic investigation and enforcement department and air operation force drone unit were involved in monitoring the rally.
