PETALING JAYA:
DAP’s Terence Naidu said he has tested negative for drugs, following his arrest at a nightclub last week, according to his lawyer.

The two-term assemblyman from Perak said he took a second urine test on Jan 15 as he was “not satisfied” with the results of the first test which found traces of drugs in his urine.

“The results were obtained today,” Naidu’s counsel Ramkarpal Singh said in a statement tonight.

The Pasir Bedamar representative then lodged a report at the Seberang Perai Tengah police station after obtaining the results and called for further investigations to be conducted.

“In light of the new developments, it is clear that further investigations by the police are needed immediately and Terence is prepared to give his full cooperation,” Ramkarpal said.

On Thursday, Naidu and 35 others were nabbed during a raid at a nightclub in Perai.

Two days later, Naidu claimed that his drink was spiked when he had gone to use the toilet at the KTV.

He lodged a police report detailing his claim as soon as he was released from custody on Friday. An eyewitness had also lodged a report confirming the same, he said.

Naidu said he was shocked when his urine tested positive after the police raid, as he “did not smoke”.

Police are said to have opened an investigation into the case under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
