PETALING JAYA:
Sedili assemblyman Rasman Ithnain was called in by the police yesterday to have his statement recorded following a sexual harassment report made against him by a woman.

According to a report in Kosmo, the woman, 26, was a committee member of the Kota Tinggi Bersatu Women’s Division.

Kota Tinggi district police chief Hussin Zamora said the elected representative was called in to give a statement at the district police headquarters (IPD) yesterday.

Rasman has since denied the allegation of sexual harassment and described it as a political conspiracy and an attempt to tarnish his reputation.

He made the statement after the woman lodged a report yesterday morning claiming to have been sexually harassed several times by a Johor assemblyman.

Rasman resigned from Umno to join Bersatu in 2018 after Barisan Nasional’s loss in the 14th general election (GE14).
